Terms of Service
Last updated: June 12, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TraceFlow, including our VSCode extension, website, and backend services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by TraceFlow ("we", "our", "us"). By installing the extension, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
TraceFlow is a VSCode extension that traces the execution of your Python code, captures information about runtime crashes (such as exceptions, variable values, and call stacks), and sends this information to our backend, which uses a third-party AI model to generate an explanation of the crash and a suggested fix. The Service may optionally apply the suggested fix directly to your source files when you choose to do so.
2. Account Registration
To use TraceFlow, you must create an account using a valid email address and password, or by signing in with GitHub. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API key, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must verify your email address before logging in with an email/password account.
3. Subscription Plans & Billing
TraceFlow offers a Free plan with a limited number of analyses per day, and a Pro plan offered on a recurring monthly subscription basis. By subscribing to the Pro plan, you authorize us, through our payment processor LemonSqueezy, to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the subscription management portal accessible from your account page. Upon cancellation, you will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the Free plan. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing or features with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Pro plan after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to exceed your plan's usage limits or circumvent rate limiting
- Share, sell, or sublicense your API key or account access to others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service's backend or AI integration
- Use the Service to process code that is illegal, malicious, or that you do not have the right to analyze
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure or the experience of other users
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including accounts found to be abusing the "unlimited" analyses benefit of the Pro plan through automated or excessive usage that materially exceeds normal individual developer use.
5. Your Code and Content
You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to your source code. We do not claim ownership over any code you analyze using TraceFlow. Crash data (including relevant code snippets and variable values) is transmitted to our backend and to our AI provider solely for the purpose of generating an analysis, and may be temporarily cached as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Crash analyses, root cause explanations, and suggested code fixes are generated by a third-party AI model and are provided for informational purposes only. AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for your specific codebase. TraceFlow does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or correctness of any analysis or suggested fix.
7. "Apply Fix" Feature
TraceFlow includes a feature that, at your explicit request, will modify and overwrite a range of lines in your source file with AI-generated code. You are solely responsible for reviewing any suggested fix before applying it, and for any consequences of applying it to your code. We strongly recommend using version control (such as Git) so that any changes made by this feature can be reviewed or reverted. We are not liable for any loss of data, broken functionality, or other damages resulting from the use of the "Apply Fix" feature.
8. Intellectual Property
The TraceFlow name, logo, branding, extension, website, and underlying software (excluding your code and AI-generated output) are the property of TraceFlow and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the Service except as permitted by its open-source license, if any.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TraceFlow and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damage to your codebase, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including any analysis, suggestion, or applied fix generated by the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, unless otherwise required by the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
